Karate Programs & Classes

People come to Karate Evolution with different goals for their martial arts training. Many want physical fitness and weight-loss, others seek to add discipline and self-control to their lives, some are concerned about safety and self-defense. Whether you're interested in mental or physical well-being, Karate Evolution offers a number of classes to fit your needs and your busy lifestyle. Check out our schedule for specific class times.

Beginner Class

Like the name implies, this forty-five minute class is for beginning Karate students between the ages of 7 and 13. In this high-energy class we work on life skills and physical skills. Your child will exercise while learning different kicks, how to punch, basic self-defense moves, combined moves and karate stances. We also teach the importance of:

Adult / Teen Karate Class

Get in the best shape of your life by working out with a purpose! Learn how to control your mind, body and emotions with intent, direction and skill. Master powerful self-defense skills to protect yourself, your family and friends. Unlike many fitness classes where you go over the same routine or series of moves again and again, karate provides a mental work out and every night the instructors teach something new. In a single class you might work on punching hand targets, self-defense skills and incorporating a weapon in a karate form. The 45-minute Adult/Teen Karate Class is always fun and never boring.

The Adult/Teen Karate Class is a total fitness package combining strength, endurance and flexibility. We incorporate the latest exercise physiology, which develops all of your muscular systems, building greater strength and definition. We give you excellent cardiovascular conditioning, expanding your heart and lung's capacity while you burn off calories. Each class also includes a variety of stretching exercises that help you to avoid injuries and keep you feeling young and agile. You'll also work out with a mix of people-athletes cross-training to stay in shape during the off-season, parents desiring to participate in their kids' activity and teenagers with a passion for all things kung fu.

Family Class

Families that kick together stick together! This weekly class gives parents the opportunity to train with their children and share a common interest. Family classes are on Saturday mornings from 9 � 9:45 a.m. and provide a fun, interactive way for children to bond with their parents while working towards their karate goals. Any belt level is welcome to attend this class!

Little Ninjas

Designed for our preschool students, Little Ninjas is a half-hour class where students learn the basic etiquette of martial arts (when to salute, how to stand at attention) and giggle their way through introductory karate skills like ducking, blocking and punching. Taught by high-energy Black Belts with equal helpings of good class management and humor, Little Ninjas combine learning and fun. Many of our Little Ninjas move through the ranks to the Basic Class as they master karate knowledge and a Black Belt attitude. We're also proud of how this class provides parents with a language of respect that their children can carry into other places they go, like home and school. Little Ninjas learn key concepts like focus and self-control that help them pay attention and behave with integrity.

Intermediate Class

For green, purple, purple stripe, blue and blue stripe belts, the 45-minute Intermediate Class works on more advanced kicks, combinations and forms while introducing weapons like nunchucks and bo staffs.

Advanced Class

Open to all red, red stripe, brown and brown stripe belts, the Advanced Class prepares students to test for their 1st Degree Black Belts.

Hyper X

Open to qualifying belt ranks only. Do you want to fly through the air and spin like a kung fu fighter? Learn tricks and flips from our Extreme Martial Arts instructor, Mr. Kitzerow.

Jiu Jitsu

Open to qualifying belt ranks only. Instructor Mr. VanStappen, a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu teaches ground combat like grappling to students of all ages.

Sparring

Open to qualifying belt ranks only. If you enjoy sparring in regular karate classes, you'll enjoy this class time devoted specifically to techniques, drills and skills so you can improve your ability in combat.
